When you take your child out to the store (grocery or another), are you always keeping an eye on your child? My son was always good at the stores, but once he hit about 3 or so, it all changed. He wanted this or that, and would attempt to go after it. I have tried many times to keep him close to me, but most of the time he will not wander far away.

It bothers me, when I can see a random kid just roaming the store alone, I wonder where the parents are, or even if the parents know the kid is gone. Makes me want to go to the front desk, overhead and yell at the parents over the intercom "Do you even care that your child is wandering around by their self". :D

I always watched my kids and now I always watch my grandson. I know my daughter flips a lid if her son gets too far. She only lets him walk if he's holding someones hand or if she has to pick something up she makes him hold the cart.

I do the same thing Gramma! If my son is walking he's holding my hand or has physical contact with the cart or a specified object. In the parking lot I put his hand just behind the door while I unlock it then have to reach around the back (can't hold him and do it).

I hope I never experience turning around and not seeing my child.

I always wanted everything.

But now it disgusts me as I understand a lot of the more "mature" stuff. I see kids just wandering around grabbing whatever they want. Hell I've seen kids eat things off the fruit stands and the parent didn't even do anything.

It's sad really.
