I just posted about my grandson staying the night. Well the reason it bothers me so much is I lost my 2nd child, my first son, to SIDS. I am petrified of my infant grandson staying the night in my home. I am almost beside myself. If my daughter were not staying with me over night I could not do it. She understands, since even though she was barely 11 months older than her brother, they had some connection. You should have seen her with him.

Anyway, has anyone else experienced this? They say time heals all wounds. It only healed this barely. I have a thin scab over a great wound. It can break open easily. It's been 25 years and I still feel like it happened yesterday.

I am very thankful that I have not experienced this. SIDS is such a tragedy. My heart goes out to you. I'm sure your grandbaby will be just fine. I'm glad your daughter understands and will be there to help you out. Your fear is certainly understandable.

I feel so bad for you. I know there can't be anything in this world harder than losing a child. I've never known anyone who's lost a child to sids, but my mom's cousin had twins and the little boy died when he was 2. I think it was something with his heart, I'm not sure. Everyone was devastated.

I'm glad your daughter stayed with you the first time your grandson was there overnight. Maybe someday you'll be comfortable watching him overnight. Work yourself into it slowly.

Thank you both for your very kind words. The good lord knows this old soul is truly warmed by them.
