Has anyone heard of the silly ways to increase odds of becoming pregnant?
Some I have ran across:

- having intercourse in the morning help
- Lie flat after intercourse and raise your legs to 30 degrees

"Many Doctors recommend that a woman lie down w/ legs slightly raised after intercourse to increase her chances of conception".

The above was qouted from numerous doctors I have asked this question to, this one in particular was my OBGYN in Arizona when pregnant with my son.

Just wondered if anyone out there has tried any of these and if it worked. :)

Are the last two you put the same method?

I have heard of many of these, but never tried them.

There's no evidence that any particular sexual position is more likely to lead to conception. You may have heard that positions which deposit the sperm closest to the cervix — such as the missionary position (man on top) — are more promising than other positions. But there are no studies to back this up.

Proper timing, on the other hand, is a crucial factor. To increase the likelihood of conception, have sex a day or two before you expect to ovulate and then again on the day of ovulation.

My best advice would be to improve your diet, take a vitamin-mineral supplement (prenatal pills are on the market for a reasonable price). You can also find out when you're likely to ovulate to and increase your chances of getting pregnant. If none work, check with your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I am not a woman but maybe because the sperm might go deeper into where the ovum lies with the help of gravity. With the leg raised, the semen will just flow down.

There is another thing that I heard about having intercourse at noon. The reason behind this is that the man is at its most active time at noon and so its sperms.

I'm not a drinker, I'm one of those unlucky teenage girls that tried something for the first time. This first time led to another first time for something, which led to another first time and ended with pregnancy.


But I'm wondering if any studies have ever been made on the frequency of conception, when you add over indulgence with alcohol and the backseat of a car. Maybe you need to add a jerk that lies about protection and a stupid girl ( too drunk and sick to even think). that doesn't know the difference. into the mix to get it right. But I suppose if it works, the two participants (whom I'm assuming, don't fit the jerk and stupid category) could always act the parts.
