Ever notice that when you smoke cigarettes you are more prone to getting bronchitis in the winter time, or any time really? I wish more would take note that the same is true with your children. I am ecstatic that I have finally quit, I can breath better now and I wish more would at least if not quit, to stop smoking near their children. If I am ever out and I see someone doing this, I kindly go up to them and tell them that it offends me as another human to sick and watch them torture their children this way. About 80% of the time, people are understanding and will put the smoke out, the others just snuff at me and go on there way. I feel better knowing atleast some are getting the idea.

I do feel happy when anyone I know has enough discipline and selfwill to give up smoking. I do feel bad when people smoke around my baby and I am not in a position to move away.

it not only increases your chances of getting bronchitis, but can cause asthma and allergies in your kids along with lung cancer, etc, etc. While our adult lungs can handle the smoke decently, growing bodies tend to internalize it and cause problems before it can be gotten rid of. I hate this time of year when smokers gather around doorways because its cold. I stood outside in a blizzard one day for almost ten minutes waiting for some idiot to finish so I didn't have to go through his smoke. Some people just don't get it or care.

Never smoked period, so that is one less thing for my kids to worry about :)
