If you are unable to get pregnant on your own, would you consider adopting an embryo (http://www.nightlight.org/snowflakeadoption.htm)? DH and I seriously considered it. We'd have the beauty of adoption and then I can still be pregnant and breastfeed. Unfortunately, our chances for success weren't good.
That seems like a good idea. I'd prefer that best for any of the infertility options.
I think it's a great option for childless couples. The only problem would be not knowing the family history of the child, but then you wouldn't know that about an adopted child either. And, realistically, it doesn't really matter. As long as you have the love to give. I don't think personality comes from biology, I think it comes from surroundings. The biological child of a criminal isn't more likely to become a criminal, although some people seem to think that way.
The only problem would be not knowing the family history of the child.
To the best of my knowledge, no embryos in the program are from unknown origins. They come with a complete family history. I linked to the program. You're right, though, that environment has lot to do with who the child will become.

We're using a surrogate, so naturally I'm all for anything that helps you create the family you desire. Be it artificial insemination, sperm donor, egg donor, surrogate, or adoption... the love is still there. Who says families have to be created the traditional way.

I agree with Mom2Twins. If have the love to give then however the family comes together is worth giving love.
