Anyone sending their kids to summer camp? Trying to find one that fits the budget let alone trying to find one that has the space for your kids is tough enough.

The church, that my family goes to, had a scholarship fund for the youth group of the church. The camp that they would go to was for a week. It was up in Upper Marlboro in the mountains in Maryland. Both my kids got to go on seperate years and they couldn't wait to go back again.

It gave me a break and let me spend some quality time with the kid that didn't go.

In January, there's newspaper that lists all the summer camps that will be up and running for the summer months. You have to apply then to try to get your kids in. It's like applying college for them.

I never went to camp, and the friends that I had that went never seemed to like it very much. And they were made to go every year, like it or not. If my kids express an interest in camp, I will let them go. They will have a cell phone with them and if they're unhappy I will go get them. It will always be their decision to stay or not, I would never make them go.

I never went to summer camp either, but I would go to Vacation Bible school. If you can find one that has at least a 4 week session, they usually have trips planned for the kids. I have one picked out already and the application is in already. They fill up just as fast as regular summer camps.

They fill up pretty quick and very early. My son is going to a sports camp for two weeks and thats it. My wife doesnt work so she is always around.
