How many of you were sick feeling the whole time? Did certain things set you off, or was it everything? I have no children and am wondering if you get used to being pregnant, or does it get harder along the way? Do you get tired easier? Are you ever limited to the things you can do? I read all these things online that are written by doctors but I would like some personal opinions please. It seems to ease my nerves knowing someone elses personal story.

I started having "afternoon" sickness right around 6 and 1/2 weeks. I would also get so tired that I would have to take a short nap. At exactly 11 weeks everything went away, just like that. All of the sudden my appetite was back and I had my usual energy level.

It is normal to start anything after the first 4-6 weeks of being pregnant. Most of the time it doesnt last into the 2nd trimester, but thats not always the case. Eat some crackers and try to avoid over exerting yourself.

I was sick as a dog from 8 weeks until 14 weeks, and then it was like a switch was flipped and I felt 100% better! But now, at 28 weeks, I'm starting to feel heartburn. Ah, being short and pregnant aren't a good mix!

I was told morning sickness would start about 6 weeks but so far I haven't had a moment's illness. By reading this thread, I guess I may still be in for it. Here I was thinking I was going to avoid that part. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

I felt six from week six, to about week sixteen, almost constantly. I didn't throw up a whole lot, only when I ate foods like pineapples and other highly acidic foods. It was a horrible time for sure!

Do you think family genes has anything to do with it? I know some that are the same as their mothers and others that are complete opposites.

I didn't realize that you could still have your period after becoming pregnant but apparently I did. Blood work put me at ten weeks and the ultrasound confirmed it. So, do you think I'm in the clear on morning sickness by this point? I've been so lucky that I have felt great so far.

I had it a lot. I was sick morning, noon and night until about 10 weeks! But that may have to do with my carrying twins. I have had friends not get sick at all. I think it depends on the person.

I never had morning morning sickness but I did get very tired about half way through most mornings. It was like I just couldn't keep my eyes open and sleep for twenty or thirty minutes. After I woke up I would be fine. That lasted until about the 13th week.

I had a similar experience to some of you-8 weeks to 14 weeks, all day long. Strong smells set me off-fried food and parmesan were banned from the house. Pineapple too made me vomit.

Hiya All

Just thought i'd tell you a bit about my own pregnancy. It was funny really but the moment I found out I was pregnant I got morning sickness the next day, why they call it morning sickness I just don't know.

I had it all day nearly every day for the full nine months, some mums I have talked to never got morning sickness at all, how lucky are they.

As my pregnancy went on I did become more tired and the thought of getting up to go work, well that was a big big effort but somehow you manage to cope, not sure how but you just do.

It's all worth it in the end, I have a beautiful little girl now, her name is Sophie and I'm so glad I've got her. :)

I did find a site all about pregnancy symptoms, it offers some good advice, maybe worth a look.

It seems just like yesterday I remember it so clearly. No sickness here, not one iota. I was lucky. But I did get really tired. All I wanted to do is sleep. I seriously could barely function.

Ultrasound scans during the first trimester are mainly done to rule out ectopic pregnancy, assess the age of the foetus and to confirm a normal or multiple. The only good reason for having a scan before six weeks is to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. If you have symptoms of an ectopic, such as severe one-sided pain in your lower abdomen, an early diagnosis is vital. A scan can help doctors decide whether the pregnancy is inside or outside the uterus. Apart from that, it can tell very little else at this early stage.
