I guess you guys might have figured out by my posts that I'm scared to death right now. Is that normal? Were you afraid the first time you got pregnant? I have about a million questions, I'm glad I found this forum. Hopefully you guys will be patient with me and help me find out stuff.

My mom was a little, but she had reason to be. She bled a little during my pregnancy. Luckily I am okay now.

The first pregnancy is always scary for every reason that you could think of. The only way that I could kind of keep it under control was to keep away the well intentioned stories from my mom. She would tell me things that had my eyes popping and my brow arching. I just had to tell her that I would ask my Dr. about it. I did find an expectant mother's support group through my clinic. It helped.

Wow, that seems kind of scary. Happy to see you found your niche in support groups.

For me it was a pretty easy pregnancy, but the delivery was a whole different story and therefore to answer this question. No I was not scared.

I'm to happy about becoming a mom to be scared. LOL

I think it's pretty normal to be scared. My wife went through some bleeding during both pregnancies and it was certainly scary, but all went well in the end. :)

I agree with Trent, that it is pretty normal to have those types of feelings. After all your body will be going through things that you have never experienced before and emotionally you will experience things that are new as well. Each person is different and no one should be overly scared it is a great thing.

I was petrified. I was so scared of childbirth. Nothing else really. I was just so freaked of the pain I'd have to go through when he was born. Thankfully, I was all over the epidural and never really felt a thing except a lot of pressure when I needed to push. No pain, and plenty of gain. haaha

It is completely normal - don't worry! When I was first pregnant with my son, I was 21, and his father was 23. I had lost my mother when I was 20, so I was in the "I want my Mommy" stage, I was lucky that sons mother helped out. And even though I had taken many parenting classes in school, nothing will prepare you better for your first child than even more knowledge, when you think you have had plenty to start with. :)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I had read tons (the only thing that helped when I could not get to sleep, with either pregnancy) and I will help as best I know. *hugs*

I have definitely had my moments of being terrified about becoming a mom and then ecstatic about it. I'm so thrilled about being a mommy and having a son. It helps a lot that everyone in my family and friends are all excited as well and they are always giving me encouragement. I have fears sometimes that I won't be a good mom and bad dreams about the delivery and things like that, but for the most part, I'm doing okay now. I did have bleeding in the beginning of my pregnancy at about 14 weeks and thought I miscarried, but luckily everything was fine and I'm now 22 weeks along with a healthy, very active boy!
