... if one day your daughter told you that she's pregnant? or
... if one day your son brings home a pregnant girl? Which is the result of his doing.

They are in her teens.

There are so many cases like this and it is really a hard time for both parents and the child. Its hard to accept but it is there already and the best thing the parents can do is to support the child. The mistake is already hard enough for the child and saying harsh words to him/her would not help at all.

What will you do if you come into this kind of predicament?

I have seen what happens when parents shun their kids from them for this, disowning them and the like. I think its really sad to start off with, and always ends up ruining a relationship. I would always be supportive weather I agreed about their choice or not, being negative never helps, esp. with something this large and life changing for everyone.

Supporting teens that get pregnant is the only way to prevent society from degrading. They need to be taught to become responsible parents, go to doctors appointments, parenting classes, and stay in school if at all possible. Abandoning them because they were "foolish" is only going to encourage them to drop out of school and flip burgers to support themselves. By doing this you would be letting them down as a parent yourself. Lots of parents are stressed themselves and often don't act they react and end up doing/saying things they don't mean that cause long lasting, permanent damage to the relationship. Its better to suck it up and help out your kids than lose rights to your grandkids.
