View Full Version : Why would someone with Aids make a concious decision to have a child?

I read it in the news, so I'm sure it's true, but I still don't believe it. The article was about high risk pregnancies. Women with heart disease, breast cancer survivors, etc. deciding to have babies. Even women with the AIDS virus. Some of the women in the article can lead productive lives if they take care of themselves, but AIDS is a death sentence. Even if you take every possible precaution, you still have the chance of passing it on to the baby. And, even if the baby doesn't get it, there are still very good odds that the baby will at some point lose their mother. I don't think women with AIDS should have babies. It's just not fair to the child.
