My daughter is 7 weeks and 3 days old today. Last Saturday she screamed and cried all night, and was constantly wanting to breastfeed. Saturday night all through Sunday and Monday, and now Tuesday morning, she has been very difficult to wake up and will only breastfeed for 2-3 minutes, or take 1-2 oz of formula over 30 minutes, every 2 hours. She wasn't having a BM so today took her to the doctor. He said she looked good and gave her a suppository and she finally went. Still not hungry or waking up. Should I be concerned? Should I let her sleep until she wakes up on her own wanting to eat?

How is she doing today?

Sometimes they go though slow spurts and dont want to eat much and sleep a lot. And other times they will kick and scream and want fed all the time and want to play. Its a crap shoot, lol.

The only big thing I would worry about is dehydration. If shes not having wet diapers then you should call her dr again.

She's doing better. She was uninterested over the weekend but I think she's getting her schedule down. Tuesday and today she's slept most of the night, is still very hard to wake up and won't eat as much, and during the day she has been wide awake and wanting to eat every 2 hours or has a complete melt down. She's made plenty of wet diapers but her bowel movements have slowed down a little bit, maybe one every 2 or 3 days now.

O the fun of schedules. Breastfed or bottle. :D So happy I am past that state now! Keep us updated.

If you are worried I would take her in. She's still in a fragile window as a newborn. I am all nervy about saying what experience prompts me to say this, but if you can't seem to wake her up and it doesn't seem right to you, take her in. There might actually be something wrong.
