Balding!

I have seen babies be bald in spots from laying on the same side all the time, I have even seen babies hair thin but my poor baby boy who is just about 3 months now is balding. His hair, which was full, thick and black just a week ago is coming out in gobs and he is completely bald on top now. He looks like an old man with hair on sides and back but not on top. However even that hair is falling out. Has anybody ever seen this and is it something i should be worried about? My pediatrician says no but it doesn't seem right.

My daughter was born with a head full of dark hair and she lost every bit of it. It's completely normal so don't worry! Now her hair is growing in curly and blondish.

Yes, I had a baby with a bunch of dark hair and his all fell out and he ended up blonde, too. It is, indeed, completely normal! Be sure to get some pictures of his cute little baldness!

I am glad to hear it isn't unusual but it just happened so quickly! I am glad we got his pictures done before he lost it all! My husband and I are thinking about shaving what's left so he doesn't look like Bozo the Clown!

Hahaha this got me bursting into fits of giggles because it's just sooooo adorable when they begin to lose their hair. Haha Bozo the Clown's cute, in a creepy kind of way, though I'm sure your baby is just cute and not creepy. Hehee.

Babies, I have heard that this is a hormonal thing. Apparently teenagers and women aren't the only people prone to hormone changes! I am sure it will all grow back soon enough and at least you have pictures of it when he had it!

Mommy I had heard this from a nurse in my mom's office too. I still find it strange. My poor baby looks like a chemo patient. The hair on the sides is slowly falling out too. He has one more thick tuft of hair that runs right through the middle of his head.

Yes I have also been told this is normal. My wife said her first son was born with a full head of hair and every person she saw for the first 6 months said "all that hair is going to fall out" and it actually didn't she had to cut his hair when he was 6 months becuase it grew so fast.
