Beware!

Beware of aborting your baby because your doctor tells you it has some kind of problem and you should abort it. I have two friends who were told that in the past few years and both of them refused to abort their babies. In both cases the babies were born healthy and as children they are both super intelligent. In spite of the tests, doctors don't know everything.

Really good thread. The same has happened to one of my close friends before. The doctor told her that she should consider aborting her baby because of some complications. She decided to go ahead with the pregnancy. Guess what? Yep the baby turned out fine AND beautiful. It was such a relief. Thank God both mother and baby are okay. Doctors can only assume from their findings what is going on, and I think mothers should caution themselves when facing such options. Don't just take the doctors word at hand. Always deliberate.

I agree. One of my granddaughters was told early on that her baby had a heart defect and was given the option of abortion but the little boy was born with a perfect heart. The only thing wrong is a slightly club foot for which he can have an operation later on and then he will be perfectly normal.

This is exactly why we were against any extra testing. We would have gone through with the pregnancy regardless, but the fact that the doctors say to consider abortion because the baby isn't 'perfect' is absurd to me.
