Can't agree on baby names

My husband and I can't seem to find a name that we can both agree on. We just found out she's a she, by the way. We have until October to pick one that we can both agree on but I didn't realize we would have this hard a time picking a name we both like.

Congratulations on the new baby girl Names can be very stressful. My son's dad and I would get mad at each other because I swear he picked the most ugly names in the whole book! But then we heard Adrian and immediately agreed. I think you guys just haven't found the right one just yet.

I agree that this naming thing can be so much unnecessary stress. With all the combinations, meanings and inputs from every relative on both sides, sometimes you wonder how it was done in the 'good ole days'.

We had SUCH a hard time with Charlie's name! It wasn't decided until we saw, him, but we both had a list of our top 5 names in the hospital. Charlie was on my list.

Congrats on the little girl!

I guess I'm stressing too early

I absolutely know this will be my last child so I think I'm trying to make everything perfect. I should know better after already having three, right?

Ok, deeeeeeep breath....ahhhhhhh, much better.

LOL.

I wrote down all the names we liked and then we eliminated as we went along the way. It turned out we gave him a name we both liked and I don't remember who suggested it in the first place.

For our first my husband and I couldn't agree on names either. So, we wrote down about 5-6 that we both liked ok and took the list to the hospital with us when I went into labor.
After our son was born we had no trouble at all deciding and agreeing on a name.

Neither of my kids had names before they were born. Our daughter, we picked after she was born, a few days old. It wasn't on either of our short lists. Our son... well, I had one name in mind for him, and the hubby had another in mind (his uncles name) and we fought for 2 weeks over it before I gave in.

I think that having a few in mind and playing wait and see can be an excellent option. Babies have such strong personalities from the day they are born that they will often fit one name better than another.

I think its quite common to have this issue. I know some that would make a list, mark them all off and end up naming their child the one thing they never wanted to name them. Its still a good name but its horrible all the things we go through trying to pick a proper name.
