{rant}I don't know where my 3yr old hides them but it seems like every time we buy him a new pair of shoes, one of the pair goes missing! I know at least once he threw one out of the window when we were driving, but the others are missing IN THE HOUSE! He likes going barefoot so I think, at least while it's warm, he's going to get his wish. {end of rant}

Oh, I so totally get this!! My four-year-old has, like, 10 pairs of shoes - and maybe two that we know where BOTH of the pair are! One would think they walk away themselves or something!

This happens at my house too and we also have a sock monster apparently because we can never find a pair of socks that match either.

Oh my goodness, yes, I forgot about the sock monster! He visits your house too? I don't ever remember my shoes being missing when I was a kid OR my socks for that matter. I think all the kids are in this together as a conspiracy to drive us parents nuts!
