Cartwheels

My daughter tried out and made the Cheerleading team. She is going into 9th grade. I was surprised that she went out for it since she was always a hands-on sports player. She plays volleyball, softball and basketball (in the past).
Anyway she can't do a cartwheel. I'm looking for advice and tips on how to get her to be able to do one. I can't do one anymore either. Anything??

Why can't she do a cartwheel? Does she have the problem of not being able to balance or her arms not being able to take her body weight? The basic principle of a basic side to side cartwheel is understanding that movement has to be fluid and in momentum so your arms need not need to take a lot of your body weight. I think for some people, the problem is that they do not "go for it". Oh and keep that first foot pointing in the direction you want to go, your body will follow suit, always. Remember to keep your arms straight, so they don't crumble under your body weight. I'm sure you can still do it too Ambersmom. You can try it with her together and make it this week's weekend goal.
