Cloth Diapers

Do any of the mom's here use cloth diapers instead of disposable? I used disposable for my first baby but I am now pregnant with my second child and considering using cloth diapers this go round.

I didn't use cloth diapers, to be honest it never crossed my mind. I don't like the thought of cleaning them. I know disposable ones aren't good for the environment, but I just didn't want the hassle of cloth ones.

I am not a mom, but yes we do use cloth diapers in my house. We use the disposables when we are out, but at home they work great. We use the brand BumGenius 3.0 and they are great.

I didn't know people still use cloth diapers!! I thought that was only during and before my time as a baby when not a lot of parents could afford Pampers. Cool so why do you use cloth diapers? Money-saving? Or some other reasons? It baffles me to know there are still people who use them. I had no idea!!

My mum used terry nappies when she had my older brother and her stories of buckets of them soaking in sterilizing fluid, washing lines filled with them hanging and having to wash a load every day really put me off the idea.

I also use BumGenius and they are a lot different that cloth diapers of the past. They have an insert you use inside and the outer shell is shaped just like a diaper with Velcro closures. It is the easiest thing in the world with no pins needed! My husband even changes the baby and has no problems with it. I use them to save on environmental waste and also money saving.

Yes cloth diapers are actually making a huge comeback. I didn't use them with my first child but I plan to use them this time around. As someone else has said it's much easier than when our grandmothers were using them and you save a lot of money as well.
