I was just watching about this on Oprah the other day. They had the male version of "ask Dr Oz" day.

I would have to say I still think circumsizing isn't a terrible thing. Many things are done to our children that are painful when they are little. We saw off their life cord, we poke them with needles and inject them with dead or "harmless" live viruses and preservatives, etc. I don't think I've ever met a man whose life was a tragedy because his parents chose to cut off his foreskin when he was little. Its one of those choices you have to make and will always second guess yourself on, just like piercing ears on girls.

Good comment there organicmum. Its true that it will hurt the baby when it will be circumcised after birth. But just like what the above comment said, babies do undergo painful procedures just to make sure they will live healthy.

But as for circumcision, if ever I will have my own baby boy, I would rather leave it be. It will his own choice what to do with his body when he will grow up. For me, circumcised or not, my boy will still be a man.

I did circumcise both of my boys. If I had to do it over again, I think I still would do it. My husband is circ'd and I'm not sure we would be able to care for the boys properly, not being familiar with uncirc'd boys. I've heard of complications in uncirc'd children, which I know are rare, but still happen.

We circ'd our twins for much the same resons. My husband's parents are Jewish and the pressure was there and although we aren't Jewish and neither are our children we decided it was what was right for our family in not having experience with uncirc'd.
