Did you tape your birth

I have seen two friends video their birth, but never been there during the time. I was asked to tape one, but I ended up getting my tonsils out the week that my friend went into labor early with her preemie. I wondered what its like from the tapers point of view, esp. the dads, did you think you may have missed something? Or was it better to be able to video it?

My hubby and I decided not to take a video or photo during giving birth. We both don't like the idea of taking one because of the present of the blood. It's too messy for us.

The memory of the birth is already enough for me and taking a video of my wife having birth is not important anymore. A friend of mine led me to link of video of a mother giving birth and its so messy in my point of view. Those kind of videos are for medicine students to study how to properly deliver a child.

Well, if the father is planning to deliver the next child on its own then its a must to take a video of the first birth.

I really want to but I cannot get anyone to agree to do it for me. My husband is squeamish and I will be lucky to get him in the delivery room at all, let alone looking at the business end of the birth.

I am still trying though.

I was not allowed to do that, the hospital had a rule against it, I was allowed to tape the labor part but as soon as they got ready to deliver the recorder had to be be turned off.

I don't think I would want that on tape. Yeah its an important event in your life, but a snapshot of the baby right after delivery is just as nice and doesn't include screaming, blood and possible profanities

I have a friend who video-taped the whole thing and one of my co-workers used his cell-phone to record the event. I was too busy trying to comfort my wife to do all that.

I want to tape our birth. I think I have convinced my sister to do it. My dad videoed all of our births, but not the crowning and what not. Though there is one point during my birth that my mother told my dad to "get that ******* camera out of her face". LOL!

I did not have the actual delivery process done but I do have a little tape with the labour process, it wasn't so bad, I hardly ever watch it though.
