Donor sperm
If the infertility that you're suffering were because of his sperm, would you be comfortable using donor sperm?

Now this I heard of, but my wife never used it. I donated a few times however.

There was nothing wrong with my sperm, so I don't know how it would feel. But me personally, I feel that it is saying I am not enough of a man.

I like the way they handled this situation on the tv show "brothers & sisters". The one brother and his wife kept trying to get pregnant and they eventually found out he was the problem because of his low sperm count. So they asked his 2 brothers to donate sperm. They used sperm from all 3 brothers, and now she's pregrant with twins. They don't know which one is the father. I just really thought that was a great way to handle that.

That is a good way of handling it. When our first RE told us five+ years ago that my eggs were the problem (and I was too young for that), I asked my sister if she'd donate.

Now this attracted my attention. I would rather adopt than have my wife conceive a baby with another man's sperm, even if that sperm is from my brothers.

In my opinion, sperm donation depends on the principles that the couples have. I mean we are not animals that needs reproduction in order to continue the existence of their species. Reproduction for humans is of great importance on the relationship of the couple.
Now back to sperm donation, if the couple is comfortable about the fact that if the woman will conceive a baby with a different sperm other than her husband then go for it. But even if just one of them is not comfortable about the fact that the origin of the sperm is not of the husband, then I guess it should not be done for it would just destroy the relationship in the future.

This is not the thing for me, however I think it is vital to those out there that need it. There are many alternatives for conception and this is only one of them.

When we were having trouble getting pregnant we discussed this. I had thought it would be nice to have donor sperm from my hubby's brother, so the baby would still have close to the same genetic makeup, but my husband wasn't for that idea. We decided if the problem was too-low sperm count and we couldn't solve it, then we'd get donor sperm.

I have a friend that is going to be the surrogate for a couple that are unable to conceive. I don't think there should be any different between adopting and having mixed sperm with others, esp. others than you know.
