Don't Lose Too Fast

I just last week had surgery to remove my diseased gall bladder. I don't fit any of the normal risk factors, other than that I lost weight rather quickly. Twice.

So just to add to the other advice against losing too fast-it increases your risk of forming gall stones, that can lead to extremely painful attacks after eating certain foods. Not to mention the painful recovery from surgery to remove the organ.

Losing weight after the first 10ish pounds of water weight should be done rather slow and I don't think most people realize this. Anything over two pounds a week is too much for your body to handle safely. Gaining or losing.

Plus, most people have a hard time keeping the weight from coming back if they don't lose slow and steady, like one or two pounds a week.

This is defiantly true. Losing more than a pound a week will most likely guarantee that you gain back that weight plus some. Learned it in my college major Exercise and Wellness. Its about the only thing I remember! Lol
