Drinking stout when pregnant.

My mother and other women in the 1940s and 50s were told to drink a pint of stout a day when they were pregnant. How times change as now women are told not to drink any alcohol during pregnancy. I don't recall it doing me or my brothers any harm though!

I had the occasional glass of wine when I was pregnant with my son. By occasional I mean a glass once a month or so when going out to dinner or for a special occasion. I checked with my doctor and she said it was okay. But you're right - times have changed big time.

Well that's just like they used to say smoking cigarettes was good for you. I never drank when I was pregnant the first time and I don't plan to this time either. I have friends who have the occasional drink though.
