Due dates - how accurate?

How close to your due date did you deliver? I'm just wondering how accurate some of these due dates are. I should ask m wife about hers as it's been a while since our last child and I don't have a clue how close she was for any of them.

They are not at all accurate, horribly bad in fact. I was almost ten days late, and something like less than 5% of people deliver on their due date. It's just a guess after all because firstly you can't really be sure when conception occurs, and because secondly no one really knows what triggers labour.

Both my kids were right on time. It was amazing really that they were both born on their due dates.
The only way the date is predicted is by the first day of your last cycle, right? Sometimes women don't even know that so I guess accuaracy of the date can be hit or miss.

My son was born 1 week early. Personally, I kind of like knowing the due date isn't set in stone. You know, it adds a little element of surprise to the whole thing.

I was born on my due date.

My first was 5 days late, my second was born the day after his due date.

Something like 80% of babies are born within 2 weeks of their edd, on either side.

Freya was 12 days late, and encouraged to come out with membrane stripping and lots of walking.

Elsa was 8 days late, and came on her own accord.

I think that half those due dates are a load of crock, like some number dropped out of a hat or something!

The due dates for my kids WERE close to the final date, but none of them was completely exact either.

Anyway, I think they are a lot more accurate for some people than others.

I was something like a month past the due date given to my parents. They were rather...active...around the time of my conception though and it was quite some time ago so I'm sure they have come a bit closer. I wasn't terribly large though so they just let me stay put, lol.

I know my best friend was getting pretty far past hers when they induced, and my sister-in-law induced her last two days past the due date given.

My daughter was due on the 7th and was born on the 3rd. But you can induce and choose the day to deliver (usually you pick a day no earlier than 1 week before your due date). I was scheduled to be induced on the 4th but my little one decided she wanted to come early

I was born two days early from my due date for my folks. My son was born 3 weeks early, but I am pretty sure my date of conception was wrong and their tests were as well............three weeks is a long time and he had no issues either, full on healthy. My girl was a day early.
