Does anyone know any good ways to get older kids moving? I have a 12 year old and all she does is watch tv,talk on the phone ,and sit on the computer.

Same problem here. All I can suggest is limit the amount of screen time, TV, computer and such. That will make her find new things to do. They may not be excercise but it's a start. what about lessons of some sort? Swimming or riding lessons are fun and give good excercise. Buy her a dog to walk every day. Hope these suggestions help. I think the age is just a lazy age and they need help to get active.

Maybe it would have to include you, like going for a walk or to the park. Joining a gym together, quality time between you two.

What do her friends do? Is she involved in any extra-curricular activities at school? I like the idea of you inviting her to join for walks or going to the gym together too.
