I just got through reading the books 'Runaway Blood Sugar' and "Fat to Skinny". I've started implementing both authors advise and I am finally, although not as fast as I'd like, seeing some results!
I didn't think I would be able to lose weight anymore since I had been doing well 'I thought" by eating lots of fruit and doing some exercise. In hindsight, It seems I may have been getting
too much sweet fruit. I would munch on grapes all day long, eat apples, eat cantaloupe etc. My blood sugar was feeding my fat cells! Anyway, I am not eating any highly sweet fruits like grapes (or if I do, only a handful); I'm not eating my kids 'fruit snacks' (which obviously don't count as a fruit but I love 'em anyway), and I'm sticking to my protein and vegetables.
