Father vs. Mother

Did anyone have a battle with their significant other choosing baby names? We can't decide. And it feels like there is no compromise. I am wondering if anyone else has been in this boat?

We are battling it out now too! Our baby was not cooperative at 20 weeks, so we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl. I like earthy names. My husband likes traditional names. We are having a tough time meeting somewhere in the middle. Mostly because I'm stubborn! He wants to dash my dreams of having a little Gemini David who I could just call Gem. Darned husbands.

Well my wife never had that problem with me at all. The only way I'd have had a problem was if she had chosen some really off the wall names like..hmmm, Muriel. She chose the names and I gave them my blessings - end of story.

I think you will always have a battle between the expecting parents, if you don't then its just not traditional! I cant think of one person that just agreed right off the bat on a name from the other parent.

Put the names in a hat and draw one. Then throw the names away and name him Otis, her Otissa.

Personally I have never had this problem. My parents however fought it out till the bitter end. Actually just till my fater rolled over and said do whatever. Anyways I think it is common. Names are important. If you feel stongly about it let them know.
