Fear of Labor

If you have had more than one child, were you as nervous approaching the second labor as you were for the first? Or, knowing what it was like were you more at peace?

I wasn't particularly afraid of my first labour, so I have no reason to think that I would be that scared of any future labours either. At least I hope not, as I don't think that fear is helpful.

No I wasn't afraid for any of mine. I knew it would be painful sure but I think it is one of the most natural and beautiful things in the whole world.

I was very afraid of labor. To me being pregnant is like a ticking bomb. I remember being in the 9th month I was being so paranoid and kept thinking I'm going to give birth at any moment.

I think I would still be afraid of labor if I had a second baby, but I'd handle it because the reward is out of this world. Nothing beats seeing your baby that you've carried for 9 months in your womb for the first time.

I was a little concern the first time because I really did not know what to expect. However, for my second I didn't worry at all. Now on my third I am just excited, and can't wait to have my baby in my arms.

Yes actually I was. Between both of my pregnancies there were many changes that I had worried would end up being an issue that would or could complicate the 2nd pregnancy, the biggest issue is my back after a nasty wreck I was not sure I could hold up during the labor and make it through. I am in the process of debating (highly) if I should have surgery or not and it was not an option after I had found out I was pregnant with my second.

I am not scared even though my last pregnancy was not an easy one. I am actually looking forward to this baby. There is nothing like the excitement, the wait, and before you know you have the baby in your arms. The pain is forgotten as well as all the bad.

My baby is less than 6 months old. I would need little time to forget he hardships I went through. It is true that the joy of having that precious bundle in your arms erases everything else, but I personally need some time to forget.
