Feeling maternal

Once you are pregnant do you feel more maternal? Some people feel like this even before getting pregnant but I never was interested in babies and dolls like my friends were, so it came as quite a shock when I found that I had such strong maternal feelings as soon as I became pregnant.

No, I didn't really start to feel maternal until my son was a couple months old. Then again, my ex (his father) is complete jerk and I had a lot to think about and worry about when I was pregnant and in the first months after he was born. I knew I was going to have to leave for our own protection at some point and that was very distracting.

I wasn't very interested in babies and dolls growing up either, and I didn't really notice that maternal feeling until my first baby was a couple of months old. I guess it took that long for me to realize that I was really a mother and she was really mine! It was different with all of the others.

I've always been maternal-like for as long as I can remember. I used to love to play with babydolls, cooing them, making them go to sleep, feeding them so it comes naturally to me. I've had maternal feelings since forever.
