Fibroids

When I was pregnant, I was told I had fibroids at my first ultrasound. I was told at the second ultrasound that I had fibroids, this was at a different location from the first. The doctors were afraid I would be in a lot of pain, they even prescribed painkillers for me, but thanks be to God, I pulled through ok. I am thinking about taking them out before I go for the second child.

You are going to do that yourself? Sorry, just a wee sarcasm, that sounded funny, I could almost picture it!

I think you would be very sensible to see a doc about it. Sometimes they can come back so it might not be worth having them removed, but they can cause complications with c-sections, so talk to your doc.

Glad you didn't have any problems. Fibroids seem to be pretty common, but can get HUGE. My sister had two enormous ones. I think depending on where they are located, would be a great idea to talk with the doc. They may take them out (for you ha ha), prior to your starting the 'conception process' would be a very good idea...I think too the preg.hormones can cause them (occasionally) to grow fast....

They seem to be the in thing with women these days. I seem every other woman has them, all over the world. I wonder if it's the food we are eating nowadays that is causing this outbreak of fibroids. Even young women under twenty are developing it. I have not seen any scientific studies explaining what it.

Is it normal for them to move? I haven't any experience with them personally but getting them removed if its unlikely they will return might be a good idea to not have them competing for room with the baby if they can get big. That might not be too much fun.
