Genetic testing
My husband's family have a couple of members with psychiatric problems. I am wondering if genetic testing can tell me if my baby will be likely to have similar problems.

I think most genetic testing is for physical issues, not mental. I don't know for sure, though, so you might want to ask your OB about it.

Genetic testing can show if there are markers for Down Syndrome but I'm not sure about psychiatric problems if there's no gene associate with it. Besides the tests are not conclusive and you be marking you and your child for a stressed out relationship unnecessarily.
