Genetic Testing

Did you have the genetic screening tests run in the first trimester? My OB's office just does them standard but if you want a test for Down's syndrome you have to go in around the 15th week mark.

I had them done as my OB's office does them standard as well but I don't know if I will go back for the Down's test or not. It just wouldn't change anything for us so I don't really see the point.

I had it done because I was considered high risk. I wouldn't have it done to decide if I want to keep the baby. No matter how his health is, we want our baby to be with us.

My doctor has not offered me a genetic testing. Should I ask for one? I wonder if I they are really needed. What things can be found through these genetic testing?

We did not have the genetics or down syndrome tests done. We don't care what the outcome of them were going to be because we created this beautiful being and we would not abort it based on any facts.

When I had my daughters they did not offer this. My wife was considered high risk for Down Syndrome because she had family members that had it. It would not have changed our minds, but it would have better prepared us for the future.
