My husband wants to get the girls PSPs for Christmas. I don't think they are old enough with the oldest being nine. At what age did you get your kids hand held games?

I think 9 is fine. My daughter begged for one about that age. I bought her a gameboy advance. I think she might have played with it about 20 times and then it was forgotten about. I'm glad really!

I think a Gameboy (even though it's "obsolete") is an excellent "first gaming system" if you choose to allow one. I recommend you get one on eBay, since they are less expensive there; or if you live somewhere near northeast Alabama, there's a place in Scottsboro that was talked about on Oprah that has stuff that people had in luggage they lost, and the place sells it cheap.
