High school and scared

My daughter is really scared of entering high school. I keep telling her that her high school years will be the best years of her life, I hope that is right. There is something called Freshman Friday where the Seniors beat up the Freshman. It's crazy!

Surely if you, as a parent, are aware of such an offensive (and potentially dangerous) tradition, the school authorities are also aware of it. If they are, they certainly ought to put a stop to it!

Do they allow the students to carry cell phones? Perhaps your daughter could keep your number on speed dial and call if she feels threatened.

What?! That's crazy, I would tell my child to stick up for herself and just face it but if it ever got more than what's proper, march straight to the office and give the authorities a piece of her mind!
