I agree with what you say momx3angels, but I do think when it comes to newborns we do have to be extra vigilant and, although not get too paranoid (like the Michael Jackson mask idea!

) we shouldn't assume their immune system will be strong enough to resist a nasty virus.
When my daughter was only 2 months old she came into contact with someone who sneezed all over her. Within hours the poor mite became very ill and I had to call the doctor. She had developed croup and had to be hospitalized. Thereafter, she always had a wheezy chest when she caught a cold and when she was 5 she was diagnosed with asthma. The doctor thought this was caused by that early bout of croup.
So, I would still try and be cautious with the little 'uns!
