How old are you potty training?

My girls were potty trained shortly after they could talk and walk on their own. I think the oldest was 16 months. The boys were a different story; I think they were almost 2 if not older. They had to learn by using the great outdoors like "the big boys do". So, each gas station was a stop.

My daughter is 16 months and we haven't really started training, but she DID wake up dry this morning. She wouldn't go on the toilet, but she went when I started her bath (had to wait a minute to put in the plug LOL!) and I have hope for training soon :-D

I absolutely believe that each child will take to potty training when they are ready and they are all different. I hate it when I see mothers pressurising their friends by boasting about how early their children were potty trained. Of course you shouldn't leave it too late. I also hate seeing children going to school still in nappies. My daughter was ready soon after she walked at 12 months but my son was two before he would even entertain the idea.

My daughter is 19 months and we have tried a little bit. We have had a weird couple of months and as things settle back down we are going to start training again. I would love to have her potty trained by the time baby #2 arrives but we have got awhile.

I started with the twins when they turned 2. Before that I let them go in the bathroom with me so they could see what I was doing. They will let you know when they are ready and if they aren't it's not a big deal you try again another time.

I waited untill my kids showed interest in what was going on and that was about 18 or 19 months old they were both potty trained by the time they were 2, but bedtime wetting was a never ending battle till about 5.

My kids were about 3 before they were fully potty trained. They went to pull ups at about 2 1/2 and a few months later loved being able to wear big kid underwear.
