I had a really easy birth with my daughter five years ago. I was a couple days overdue feeling like nothing was ever going to happen. I had been dilated to 4cm for a month and every week my doctor was amazed that I hadn't already went into labor.
It was 7 am and was listing to the thunderstorm outside. I went to get out of bed and had that trickle of water feeling and didn't think anything about it. I went to the kitchen and started gathering up stuff for breakfast. Lucky for me a chair was within my reach because all of a sudden I couldn't stand. Every three minutes I was having contractions so we left everything and headed to the hospital which is a half hour drive and I think we got their in 15! Called my doc on the way so she would meet us their and parents on both sides.
By 9 I was all ready to go but, I wasn't dilating and they couldn't figure out why so they put me on potosin. At 11 they decided to cath me and that was the problem my bladder was getting in the way. I went from 5cm to 10cm within the hour and with 2 pushes (8 minutes) my beautiful 8lb 10oz girl was born at 12:37pm.
