Knowing the Sex of Your Baby

Some people want to know right away whether they are having a boy or a girl. However, there are still parents out there who love the element of surprise and don't want to know. When I was pregnant with my daughter I couldn't wait to find out. Then I was so silly, that I would ask "Is it still a girl?" at each additional ultrasound I had. I ended up having 5 of them because the doctor wasn't quite sure if I could have her naturally. I'm sure they got tired of me asking this same question! How about you, did you want to know or want to be surprised?

I think I will want to know. That way I can get everything together, the stuff that is boy or girl specific. And how much of a surprise is it? Its either a boy or a girl after all. The surprise will be in getting pregnant!

I knew by instinct both times and I was happy with that, but the extra knowing from the ultrasounds was nice to confirm my thoughts too. I always knew I would have a boy before a girl and that's just how it worked out too.

I don't think I'd want to know. I mean it would be nice to be able to shop for more specific items but I would be just as happy to buy unisex items until I had the baby. I'm not big into the pink for girl, blue for boy so I wouldn't miss out on that part.

I also knew by instinct both times, but I asked at both ultrasounds to "make sure". I think I will let the third and final be a surprise (well, aside from what my gut is telling me).

I was like you all Alexis and VTGal. I just always knew in my heart that I'd have a boy and then a girl. When they did the one and only ultrasound with my son he had his legs crossed and they couldn't tell. I still knew he was a boy! Then when they did the ultrasounds with my daughter she wasn't shy at all. But I still knew she was a girl even before the first one. I had this thing during both pregnancies where I would dream over and over what I was having and the dreams were always right.

I didn't want to know, but the ultrasound technician wrote XY on the top of the screen during the ultrasound. I was so mad because it ruined my surprise. In the end it was okay though because the real surprise came at delivery, when my XY came out XX.

lol, we were the same, my husband saw one XX but not the other so we decided to leave it at that. But this time I really want to find out because I am hoping for a girl, although a third boy would be great but if it is a girl I want her to be pink, pink, pink!
