Living more eco friendly

My husband and I have started living more eco friendly since our daughter was born. We have always recycled but have taken it further now. We started being more concern about the cleaners we use around her, what she eats, and so on. We started using a vinegar and water mix for our household cleaner which has been an amazing relief about cleaning around her and cleaning her toys, high chair, etc. It's nice not to worry about what she is getting exposed to. We also feed her all organic foods and juices. I also recently bought reusable bags for our groceries. It really hasn't been hard changing our ways and being more eco friendly.

How are you eco friendly? Have tips or suggestions?

We basically do the same sort of things that you do. I have reusable bags (string, and cotton totes) and a foldable shopping trolley. We don't drive often, instead walking with my daughter in a maya wrap, baby sling. Vinegar is great, as it baking soda as a cleaner.

We also grow some of our own fruit and veg.

I've been wanting to do some more environmentally friendly things, but I just don't know where to start and it's all so overwhelming. What is the best thing to start with?

Personally I would start with removing chemicals from the home, starting with bleach. Oxygen cleaner and sunlight are great alternatives to bleach, or hydrogen peroxide or vinegar.

I like the new no fragrance / no dye products that have come out recently.

We are much more Eco friendly at home after our baby arrived. The usual stuff for an Eco-people as using only bio-degradable wipes, energy saving bulbs, no air-conditioning, organic food, etc. (We do a lot of energy saving thing actually.) We are planing to have solar collectors too.

I personally can't do without the fragances. I love the smell of bleach, but I am starting to let go little by little.

When I started to be more eco-friendly, I started by changing all the light bulbs in the house, and making sure to use a cup when brushing my teeth to make sure I didn't leave the water running. I have moved on to the reusable bags and not making trips for one little thing, but making a cost efficient trip where I do several things in one day and map it out t use the least gas.

I have also stopped using disposable tableware and have reduced the usage of papel towels and napkins to a minimal.

I know these things may not seem like much, but we all have to start somewhere. A little bit at the time makes a huge difference in the end.

green products

I've found some products online that are safe and effective and smell great. Plus they are concentrated, so you buy one bottle instead of 3 to save money and plastic. Let me know if you are interested in knowing where I found them. None of the products require safety caps, they are so safe.
