I have developed a bad gall bladder, and am in the process of being tested to find out if it needs to come out. I have recently lost 30lbs, and am aware that weight loss of this magnitude can trigger a bad gall bladder.
So I am letting up on the further weight loss-not that I wish to stop it but I don't intend to actively pursue it, rather just controlling my gall bladder. How do you personally work to maintain weight loss when unable to diet because of illness?
I think what you need to do is not think about losing weight, rather think about eating a healthy diet. I can't imagine it would be bad for your gall bladder to eliminate processed foods and sweets. Just doing that should help you maintain your weight and stay healthy.
Unfortunately a gall bladder diet is higher in sweets because its your main safe calorie source. All I could eat by the time I had the surgery was salad, fat free milk, cereal and sugar! Almost everything else caused an attack.
Right now you need to ficus less on dieting to lose weight, but maybe kick up your workout routine. I would think a walk a day would do you (and your gallbladder) some good.
