I lost my mother when I was 20 years old (cancer), and by the time in my life that I was pregnant with my son I was 21 and scared out of my wits! I missed the fact that I did not have someone to call up and go "WHATS GOING ON WITH MY HORMONE'S", or anything else. I was 26 when I had my second, and I still miss her each day.

It is quite hard to become a mother after you have lost your own. Does anyone else have this issue?

I don't have the same issue but my heart-felt sorry for you is all the same. Although my parents are still very well alive, I miss them also for I live in a different country from where they are. I've been gone from home for 1 year and 1 month already and it seems like forever. I now realize how important parents are in my life. Well, we will never how important a thing or a person to us until it will be gone.

I'm so sorry Alexis. I do not share this issue with you, but my heart is wrenching for you. I'm sure you are a simply wonderful mother, and more so because you know what it's like to lose your mom. You'll respond by being more there for your babies from what I've seen with friends.

Don't let any tears shed, or hearts wrench from my story. Honestly, be happy for the time you have left with your folks. Losing my mother early on, let me think about many things I want to do before I'm gone with my own kids. Its actually oddly been a blessing in disguise if that can make any sense.
