Mommy Brains

For ever pregnancy I went through, I would always have this "mommy brains" effect whereby I keep forgetting things, like where I put my keys, the names of acquaintances, and sometimes when I talk, I would just stop mid-sentence because I forgot what I was talking about!

I got so frustrated I began writing everything down! Things got well again after giving birth though. Grr, sometimes I feel so stupid during pregnancy because of this, and it's silly too. Any of you have the same issues?

Oh, yes. I find myself continually walking into a room only to discover I have forgotten what I went in there for. I have also forgotten other stuff like putting wet clothes in the dryer or that I had something in the oven.

My mind was completely lost when I was pregnant and I don't think I ever quite recovered I was so preoccupied thinking about the baby I couldn't remember anything. If I didn't write it down, it didn't get done.

Alas, along with other things that were supposed to go back to normal after pregnancy, never fully went away. I swear I am the only 30 year old with Alzheimer's! I can't remember what I had for dinner last night for goodness sakes. And forget getting the right name when I am talking to my kids!

I think of suffer of this condition all the time and not only pregnancy. I believe we are so busy multi tasking and stressed out that our brain shuts down and restarts periodically in order not to crash.
