Need advice for two month old routine

Hello!
My daughter is 8 weeks old. I am exclusively breastfeeding her. She eats every two hours during the day and every three hours at night. She never gives me more than three hours. I would like to establish good routines for her now but I am concerned as to where and how she naps. Her nanny swaddles her and bounces on a fitness ball until she falls asleep and then places her in her swing. The swing is on while she sleeps. Does a two month old need motion to help sleep or can they just become too used to this routine which creates the need? When I am with her and trying other ways to get her to sleep then she seems fussy unless bounced so I wonder if I will forever have to bounce her to soothe her. She does have alert time where she “plays” earlier in the day but generally is fussy from 4pm-7pm. Most often she is passing gas so I assume it’s usually a hurting belly that causes evening fussiness….and she sometimes wails. Could the daytime swaddling cause her to be gassy at night? Should a two month old not be swaddled for naps? Or could it be the swing that makes her gassy because she isn’t lying flat? If she is lying flat for naps then she does not sleep as long. As for the night time, she sleeps swaddled in a co-sleeper that is in our bed. I would like to move her to her own room soon but I want to tackle one thing at a time! Should I start doing all naps and bedtime in her room? Any advice is appreciated.

At two months old this is how she will feed for a few more months. At two months old she will get use to being bounced to sleep by the nanny if that is who put her to sleep most of the time.

Babies recognizes the ways each person uses to put them to sleep. My daughter has a six month old. She puts him to sleep by laying him down and giving him a pacifier. I put him to sleep by rolling him while holing him snuggly. He like me to put him to sleep more than his mother. I think it is because of the holding part.

What you can to do is find the way she will go to sleep when you put her to sleep. Maybe you should just hold her very snuggle against you, in the cradle of your arms and choose a little song just for her and sing to her until she goes to sleep, while rolling her gently back and forward. Putting her to sleep like this will also help create a deeper bond between you and your daughter.

As for sleeping in the swing, I think this is not a good idea. She will get use to the movement of the swing and that will be the only way she can sleep. Plus it may not be very comfortable sleeping like that, may be contributing to the fussiness. I think it is a good idea to take her out of the swing and lay her in a bed sometimes so she can get use to sleeping on a bed that don't move.

Also you can take a nap with her while she is taking her nap, if possible, while holding her snuggly in your arms. Not only is this help her get use to sleeping in a bed, but it will create a deeper bond between you and your daughter. It also gives you a change to get some need rest too.

The gasiness may be caused by anything. From too much air from bouncing on the ball, from not laying flat when she sleep. It can even be caused by what she is eating because her system is getting use to her food. That is a tricky one.

As far as putting her in her own room I think it would be wise to wait a little on that. She still very young.

Milk is an important part of a toddler's diet because it provides calcium and vitamin D, which help build strong bones. Kids under age 2 should drink whole milk for the dietary fats needed for normal growth and brain development. When your child is 2, you can probably make the switch to low-fat or nonfat milk, but talk with your doctor before doing so.
Between 12 and 18 months of age is a good time for transition to a cup. Instead of cutting out bottles all at once, you can gradually eliminate them from the feeding schedule, starting with mealtime. Offer whole milk in a cup after the child has begun the meal. If you are breastfeeding, only offer milk in a cup and avoid the bottle habit altogether.
Some kids don't like cows milk at first because it's different from the breast milk or formula they're used to. If that's the case, it's OK to mix whole milk with formula or breast milk and gradually adjust the mixture so that it eventually becomes 100% cow's milk.
