Nicknames
Do your children or grandchildren go by their given names or nicknames? I'm a 'nick name kind of person' seems like I give about everyone nicknames, and generally they stick. Had a nickname for our first grandchild before we even knew if a boy or girl and has stuck thus far!

My 'kids' are called by their nicknames most. Most everybody who knows them from their home environment, calls them by their nicknames. It's a good thing their nicknames are cool.

We just call our children by their given names usually, but we do have some nick-names that we will call them on occasions.
My parents are more into the nicknames however, so they use the nicks much more frequently than I do.

I never had a real nickname, every now and again my mom will call me pumpkin or something like that, but nothing stuck, we were always called by our registered names as kids.

I go by a nickname most of the time but it depends who is calling me what if I will answer or not. I don't mind them for myself too much but some kids might, be careful what you nick your child they may end up hating it, esp. if it can be easily picked on.

I go by a nickname about half the time in very familial settings. One of my uncles started calling me "Beagle" when I was a toddler (and every time someone tells the story, the reason why he did is different), and now even my friends and DH call me so almost as much as they do my given name. My brother never uses my proper name, it is either Beagle, or he'll shorten my name down to one syllable - which I hated for the longest time, but have had to get over it since he's much more thick-headed than I am and won't give it up.

I've never gone my a nick name myself, Sarah is short and doesn't lend well to nicknames. Dante, my son, is also short. But I do call him my little Pudger-Wudger and Squish. Better stop before those really stick.
