No Added Sugar as Good as Regular?

I'm trying to cut back sugar in our diets and have been looking into no sugar added foods. I'm worried about how they will be eaten by the family, especially the ones who can read (and are men who need manly food). Will they really notice the difference?

The other thing to consider is are they really healthier? Unsweetened might be more what you are looking for, because aspartame and other fake sweeteners can have issues of their own.

Most of the "no sugar added" have artificial sweeteners that are actually worse for the body, and taste awful too. Not to mention the cost. I've tried some things like that and have simply found that none of us ate them. I'd stick with the regular, just in moderation.
The only no sugar added foods I like are fresh fruits and vegetables.

Most of the no sugar added foods I've seen really are no sugar added, not sweetened with fake stuff. Just last week I bought no sugar added applesauce. Now mind you the ingredients are the same as unsweetened and its probably a marketing gimmick by Walmart, but I can't taste anything missing.

With apples it might be as simple as them using a different type of apple. Not all apples are bitter tasting, and when cooked some of them are horrifically sweet!
