Anyone here ever have no idea what they were going to name their child and decide from picking out of a hat or something similar? Sometimes I am surprised at the ways people get their names. Mine was a combo from my mothers parents names and my fathers parents names, and it still doesn't make sense to me, but I get people asking what it means all the time.

Sometimes really cute names are discovered by combining two names. Someone in my mom's family combined two grandmother's names to come up with a middle name for her daughter. Angietta was the result. Angie + Etta. I thought that sounded pretty. And it went well with her first name Molly (which I originally thought was too old sounding, but it grew on me).

I have not seen many combo names before, but I am sure many still get frustrated at picking names (I did). Its not an easy task as many would think. Making sure the child isn't teased for their name, than the initials don't spell something bad, etc. Its not easy work.

My husband wanted to name our oldest son Tiffany and his reasoning was that the boy would get picked on alot at school and it would toughen him up having to fight all the time.

Personally I thought that was taking it a bit overboard so we settled on Ann and agreed to put him in karate class.

He's 6 years old and already he's a green belt.
