None Medicated Fever Reduction

A friend recommended Cool Strips, a gel strip that stays cool and sticks to the forehead. It helps to naturally reduce fever a little and makes the child more comfortable.

Have you tried them?

I haven't tried them, or heard of them, but they sound great, especially for nighttime when you aren't up to swab their foreheads all night. I'm definitely going to look for them next time I'm at the drug store!

I hadn't heard of these, so I was looking online for them. All I could find was a natural remedy for hot flashes, which seems to be what you are talking about? Does it work well for fevers?

These are actually called 'Be Kool'. I bought four boxes at once some time ago and so I forgot the name.

They are nice yes, and relatively effective. I don't believe in treating fever in a child who isn't actually horribly sick as it's the body's way of fighting disease, but these can help to make the child more comfortable.

Thank you, I'll look for those. I don't treat fevers either, unless the child is very uncomfortable and not acting themselves. I believe they need to run their course for the most part.

This sounds like a wonderful idea and I too will be looking for these. I hate medicating my kids unless absolutely necessary. I think it is important for their bodies to build up immunity through fighting illness on its own.
