I do not want to medicate my daughter, for fever or for the other symptoms. But I know there are other things I can do to help her, such as vaporub, and steam and so on.

What things have worked for you to keep your little ones comfortable?

For fever I use cool water baths, dressing them down in a warm room, even just a wet washcloth to sweep over the forehead to cool the kids down (since they aren't sweating, this mimics the way sweat regulates heat in the body).

For snotty noses, those shower soothers work great! and the vicks vapor thnigy that you plug into the wall. Soothing Vapors, or something like that.

For stuffed up noses we run a humidifier with Vicks vapors liquid poured in the separate spot on the humidifier. Also, Vicks makes a Baby Rub which I rub on my son's chest and the bottoms of his feet.

Hey now, humidifier's are great even when your not a kid! We keep one running here since any change of weather messes with me. And I read somewhere that Vick's wasn't good for children, can someone verify this?
