I have a step son that has to get his hair cut every 3 weeks or it is already too long. I can usually go 7 weeks between cuts and be fine. Is it normal for it to grow that fast?

Yes, that's another thing that varies greatly from person to person! My son (4) has to have a haircut every 3-4 weeks, but my daughter (1.5) hasn't even grown enough hair to put in a ponytail yet!
