Nursing bra

My daughter was asking me about nursing bras the other day. I told her it's been a really long time since I needed one of those but I'd do some research and see if I could find information about different brands, or maybe recommendations from someone who's actually used one in this decade. Can I count on anyone here to recommend something? I'm sure there are many to choose from. She's a jeans and tee's kind of girl, so comfort is high on her priority list.

Crafty one here..lol They can be expensive, so buy a couple of regular bras, cut a square, leaving the bottom piece hanging. Them sew some velco to the outside of the cup and on the inside of the piece cut. Really, it's an inexpensive way in getting around the expensive bra's.

I breast fed and I was a loose top kind of gal. I only bought one nursing bra that I wore out for things like Dr's appointment, shopping, or family get togethers. Otherwise I just wore new, regular bra's with loose straps at home.

What a clever idea seekerlady. I'll have to tell Jamie about that. One question though... does the velcro cause any irritation? And, what about leakage, do you have suggestions for that?

Easy Baby Life has a fantastic article with all sorts of tips and hints on choosing a nursing bra, from when to buy (after the birth!), things to look out for, how to know if it fits, what kinds of fabrics to choose, and very importantly, what NOT to buy: http://www.easybabylife.com/nursing-bra.html

I think making a bra is a wonderful idea. I have experimented with lots of different bras, and haven't found one that is comfortable. Nursing tank tops are great, i prefer to wear those over a bra any day

I bought several different nursing bras. The ones i likes the best are actually called "Sleep Bras". I wear those around the house all the time. For work and going out I use a wireless nursing bra. The wired ones hurt.
