Only Breast Milk

My wife had returned to her work already. So when she's at work, our baby feeds on formula milk.

Something came up to me while feeding him, will a human baby survive with feeding only on its mother's milk? Almost all mammals survive by feeding only on its mother's milk. So human babies can also survive by just breast milk, right?

It's too bad that the formula manufacturers have people so convinced that breastmilk is in some way "lacking". My kids were fed nothing but breastmilk until at least 6 months, my last was past 7 months. Not one drop of formula went into any of them. My oldest is 11 and very much alive.
Human milk is the only perfect way to feed a human baby. When a baby has human milk, it doesn't need anything else.

Human babies can most certainly survive only on breast milk providing the mother is healthy. Since the nutrition a mother takes in is passed onto her offspring through breast milk if she is deficient in vitamins or such the milk will be as well. But my mom only breast fed and I survived ok.

Actually sometimes if the mother's diet is deficient in certain vitamins or minerals, they will be stripped from the mother's body to provide complete nutrition for the baby. It is the mother who suffers most often, not the child.

Human milk is what is supposed to support a baby. If you really believe that a baby cannot survive without formula, then what do you think happened to babies before formula was invented?

Hmmm, you are completely right, I think I'm just lacking sleep that I could not think clearly anymore. But thanks for your answers, it made me come back to reality. Gotta feed my baby now.

While it is good, its also bad when you see a mother that can not breastfeed. I have a friend like this and it gets her down knowing that if her body could do it, she would and her baby would do better in the end.
